Students and Parents

Welcome to the Reichelt Science website.

Thank you for accessing the site.  Please take some time becoming familiar with the new site.  Located within these pages are chapter outlines, study guides, quizzes, videos, class chat blogs, and more.  Everything students need to have to be successful in class is right here.  If your child loses study guides or other assignments it is their responsibility to print out additional copies here.

If your child is absent or you find they need additional time to learn material please access the video page.  Located there are all the lectures broken up into small segments.  If your child prefers to read material - check out the guided readings, and the chapter outline pages.

I am so excited for your child to continue their learning of Life Sciences!  Listed below are a few helpful hints when registering for classes.

AP BIOLOGY
Do not underestimate the workload of AP Biology.  Class consists of college level labs, and the expectations are high.  Tests are difficult, and are written to be difficult.  My goal is to prepare students to pass the AP Biology exam, and to do that - it is imperative that students spend adequate time outside of class watching videos, reading textbooks, and completing their work.  This class is a self-driven course.  If your child is not motivated, hardworking, and willing to be challenged this is not the class for them.

With that being said, I truly believe the skills that students will learn in this class are valuable beyond measure.  Students have the opportunity to work collaboratively to solve problems, they will combine scientific skills with mathematics and make conclusions based on their observations.  They will learn to pace themselves, they will face difficult content, and the way they respond to that will help them in a college setting.  For the first time at HHS students have the choice in how they best learn material.  This is great practice for when they enter college.  Students will get to learn in the way that suits their needs.

Honors Anatomy and Physiology
This is a great class for students that are interested in a health related occupation.  This class is for students who are self-driven and motivated to memorize parts of the body.  This class requires students to be motivated and hardworking as they will be challenged to establish a foundation of the human body.  The focus of the class is on a microscopic level.  Each chapter will begin at the cellular level and work its way up to an organ system.  This class is offered for dual enrollment with NNU.

Anatomy and Physiology
A great class to take, but students need to want to learn anatomy and physiology.  Students will be expected to memorize a lot of material.  If students are needing a science credit and have no interest in science this is not the course for them.
